Susan Cavicchi

Reading School Committee Member, Reading Public Schools - Resigned, effective June 30, 2003

School Committee member Susan Cavicchi tendered her resignation on 06/17/03 (effective June 30, 2003). Cavicchi, who regularly recused herself from the public School Committee discussions involving gas, was known to be a longtime supporter of converting Reading schools to gas energy. Her husband, Bob Cavicchi, now retired from Boston Gas, was closely involved in the Parker Middle School's conversion to gas during the construction / demolition / renovation project in 1995 - 1996 (see .pdf, School Committee minutes, 07/10/95 re: Boston Gas Line Installation).

Cavicchi's resignation coincides with the departure of another longtime supporter of converting the Reading Public Schools to gas, Superintendent Harry Harutunian.
